Beechworth Courthouse Refurbishment

As part of the $1 million Beechworth Courthouse Kelly Trials Project, First Scaff was engaged by Indigo Shire Council to supply and install scaffolding for the internal refurbishment of the historic courthouse building.

The scaffold was used inside the main courtroom to provide safe access for ceiling, lighting and restoration works while protecting original timber and heritage finishes.

Project Environment

  • Heritage-listed building. All timber surfaces were protected using carpet underlay beneath scaffold components.
  • Tight internal access required careful manual handling of all gear to avoid contact with walls, floors and fittings.
  • Coordination with multiple trades operating simultaneously within limited space.
  • Time-sensitive program required rapid response to evolving site needs.

Project Outcome

The project was completed safely, efficiently and without damage to any heritage surfaces. The scaffold system provided secure and stable access for all internal restoration works, allowing the project to progress on schedule while preserving the integrity of the historic courthouse interior.
